Egad! Are those wood ticks on that leaf? Your mushroom and other various fungi photos are amazing. I've enjoyed them.
Actually, those are aphids the size of the head of a pin on that leaf. The trumpet looking things in this photo is called trumpet lichen. The longest "trumpet" is about the length of my pinky nail.
